Pastured Ossabaw Island Hogs root through the forest for nuts and greens, grassfed Highland beef cows happily graze the green grass, and our livestock guardian dogs protect them all.

We are also very excited to announce that this Spring we will be offering a unique cheese herd-share opportunity with a pick-up point at the Hip D Market. In 1998, inspired by a farm trip to Europe, Kenny Mattingly of Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese, started using the milk produced by his 120 dairy cattle to produce Gouda cheese using Old World, handmade techniques. Today, Kenny’s produces a wide variety of cheeses including Cheddar, Colby, Jack, Asiago, Swiss, Havarti, Bleu and a special line of signature cheeses created by Kenny himself. All of Kenny’s cheeses are made from raw milk preserving the naturally beneficial enzymes in the milk aiding digestion of lactose and absorption of calcium. Just as important, raw milk cheese has a much richer depth of flavor. In addition, Kenny’s uses a vegetable-based rennet to coagulate the cheese making it acceptable to vegetarians. The cheese is aged, hand cut and packaged on the family’s 200-acre farm in southeastern Barren County, Kentucky near the community of Austin.
